What does J-ET actually do?

18 March, 2009

J-ET was originally developed as an aid to accountability. In 1998 spot schedules and bookings had to be faxed over and it wasn’t uncommon for a 100+ page fax to be exchanged. A typical campaign might have taken upwards of a week to plan and brief out while a post campaign analysis and confirmation of transmission could literally take weeks to consolidate as it was almost an entirely manual process!

A visionary decision was made 12 years ago to devise a system that could brief out a campaign to stations and sales points in seconds rather than days and allow users to exchange electronic plans, briefs and proposals in a secure environment supported by a full audit trail. J-ET also had to be able receive transmission details back from the stations to close the accountability loop and give agencies and their advertisers the confidence to invest in radio. A typical campaign now takes approximately 1.5 days to plan and buy and post campaign analysis is produced automatically by the system and signed off by both buyer and seller as an accurate reflection of activity.
