Q. Who owns J-ET?

A. The J-ET system is wholly owned by JICRIT (Joint Industry Commercial Radio IT).

 

Q. Who owns JICRIT?

A. JICRIT is a limited company jointly owned by the IPA representing Media Buyers and RadioCentre representing Sales Points and Stations. It has a board of directors made up from founder members of J-ET. You can meet the board by clicking here. ISBA (representing advertisers) has a seat on the board which guarantees complete transparency and openness in the running and direction of the system.

 

Q. Does JICRIT run the J-ET system in house?

A. No. JICRIT appoints a partner to run the system and provide helpdesk support. The current contract is run by Mediatel who also helped the industry create the system from scratch back in 1998.

 

Q. Does J-ET just support national radio sales and spot buy?

A. J-ET’s original remit was indeed to make national sales easier and more accountable at the spot buy level. However, with the move to XML log data feeds J-ET is opening up new strands like Sponsorship and Promotions for example.

 

Q. Does J-ET just cover London Agencies and sales points?

A. No! J-ET has customers in several key radio trading areas outside of London including Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Nottingham, Leeds, Carlisle and the Channel Islands. A full list of subscribers can be found here. Keep an eye on the counters at the top of the page for weekly updates on the number of spots, users and campaigns etc going through the system.

Q. Does J-ET handle other media?

A. At this time no, J-ET is dedicated to commercial radio in the United Kingdom only.
